We regularly represent clients in arbitration before institutions including: the World Bank's Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID); the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA); the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association (ICDR/AAA); the Cairo Regional Centre for the International Court of Arbitration (CRCICA); and the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC). As well, we represent clients before specialized trade bodies including the Grain and Feed Trade Association (GAFTA), the London Maritime Arbitration Association (LMAA), and the Federation of Oils, Seeds, and Fats Association (FOSFA).

* Representing American and Bahaman investors, as plaintiffs' lead counsel, in a multibillion dollar litigation before United States Federal Courts against the Arab Republic of Egypt and the National Bank of Egypt in connection with various public international law and United States federal law violations committed by the defendants against the clients' investments in a real estate, manufacturing, and media conglomerate in Egypt.

* Representing an American investor, as claimant's lead counsel, at ICSID annulment proceedings against the Arab Republic of Egypt in connection with Egypt's expropriation and destruction of the client's investment in a 182 acre beach front resort in Ain Sokhna, Egypt.

* Representing Saudi Arabian investors, as claimant's lead counsel, at Arab Investment Court proceedings against the Arab Republic of Egypt arising from the inadequate due process of law afforded by Egypt to the client's' investment in a factory in Egypt.

* Representing a BVI investor, as claimant's lead counsel, in arbitral proceedings before the ICC in London, governed by Cypriot law, against a Canadian corporation in connection with repudiation and various breaches of a joint venture agreement for the exclusive licensing and operation of patented oil field technologies and services in the Middle East an Africa.

* Representing a California corporation and several American and Egyptian entrepreneurs, as defendants' lead counsel, in litigation before federal courts in the California, governed by Kansas law, in connection with the termination of a franchise agreement to exclusively operate a major chain of furniture outlets in Southern California.

* Representing one of Egypt's leading edible oil producers, as claimant's lead counsel, in institutional arbitral proceedings before FOSFA in London, governed by UK law, against its Belgian oilseeds supplier for breach of a supply agreement.

* Representing the majority shareholder of one of the Middle East's largest textile manufacturers in a series of shareholder and labor disputes, as well as bankruptcy proceedings before Egyptian courts and administrative bodies.

* Acted as party appointed arbitrator at CRCICA in a dispute concerning a novel financial transaction governed by Egyptian law.

* Represented an American investor at ICSID arbitration against the Republic of Turkey in connection with Turkey's expropriation and unfair treatment of the client's investment in a large coal fired power plant in Turkey.

* Represented over 250 Lebanese victims of the 1983 and 1984 bombings of the United States Embassy and Army Barrack in Beirut in United States federal litigation against the Islamic Republic of Iran pursuant to the United States Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act.

* Represented the Ministry of Defense and Aviation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in United States federal litigation against an American corporation in connection with an agreement for the supply and maintenance of defense equipment.

* Acted as external counsel to the Arab Republic of Egypt on the United Nations, Egyptian, Iraqi and other Middle East law aspects of a multi-million dollar arbitration before the United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC).

* Acted as lead internal counsel to a major mobile telecommunications operator in connection with five ICC arbitrations associated with joint venture agreement disputes related to operations in Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Chad and Yemen.

* Represented American and Saudi investors in arbitration before the ICDR/AA against the Egyptian Radio and Television Union in connection with a breach of an exclusive license to broadcast Egyptian television programming in North and Latin America.

* Represented the Kuwaiti Ministry of public Works in construction arbitration before the ICC.

* Represented an Egyptian engineering firm in an international joint venture dispute before the ICC.

* Represented commodities buyers and shippers in various arbitrations before GAFTA and the LMAA.
